Annual Meeting Planned for November 17

Join your friends and colleagues at the Eisenhower Partnership Annual Meeting on November 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.  We’ll have speakers on topics related to the Eisenhower Avenue corridor, food and drink, and networking opportunities.  The membership will also be voting for new members of the Eisenhower Partnership Board of Directors for 2016 – members serve a two-year term.  Last year’s session on prospects for development around the Van Dorn Metro was a big hit, and this year’s is sure to be well worth your time as well.  The meeting will be held at the Society for Human Resource Management (fondly known as SHRM), 1800 Duke Street.

Floor and Décor
Planning New Store on Eisenhower Avenue

Floor and Décor, a “big box” seller of tile and flooring materials with only two other stores in our metropolitan area, is planning a large retail showroom plus warehouse at 4607 Eisenhower Avenue, just west of the Clermont Interchange.  This location is an existing warehouse, which will receive façade improvements, and landscaping at the Eisenhower Avenue frontage.  This new “big box” use was foreseen in the Eisenhower West plan passed last year.  The application will be heard by Planning Commission and City Council in November.

Two Buildings Receive Approvals for Office and Retail Uses on the Ground Floor

Two existing buildings, at 2318 Mill Road and 2461 Eisenhower Avenue, recently received approvals that will allow them more flexibility in filling ground floor space rather than holding the space vacant for a specific type of tenant.  At 2318 Mill Road, the office building housing the American Society of Clinical Oncology has not been able to find a retail tenant for its designated ground floor retail space; the building is off the main Eisenhower Avenue axis and there is not sufficient retail demand on its site.  2461 Eisenhower Avenue is the Hoffman office building facing Eisenhower Avenue; it too will be getting flexibility, this time to add retail as an allowable use on the ground floor.  The Eisenhower Partnership supported both these applications.
